Guild Wars Client for Mac
I recently created this client for the mac. It uses Wineskins to create an app out of windows programs. Through testing it works pretty well. I know theres many ports for the Mac but I've found this one to to be one of the simpler ones to use.

It works amazing and I have no lag over 100fps on my new mac, thank you so much, and I just created an account on this site to formally thank you for what you have given us. I have no quarrels with it, and I was looking in how to do a wine of it myself, however I stumbled upon this, and reading several of the comments it seemed that you were not getting the credit you deserve, so once again thank you for a beautiful port of GW.

Things that work well
Load times.
Launcher.
Performance.
Anti-Aliasing.
Windowed Mode.
Bugs:
The Minimize Button. (Creates black screen, to get out, just click on Guild Wars at the bottom left.)
Occasional Texture Issues.
Ping (Personally my latency is higher than on bootcamp, it might just be OS X however.)
Installation:
1. Unpack the .zip
2.Drag/Drop Guild Wars to the applications folder.
3. Open it.
4. It should now start downloading and playing the game normally.

FAQ:
Which client should I choose, Crossover Games, or Wine?
It all matters as to what works better on your system really. If you might notice, the Crossover Games version is sigificantly smaller in filesize. This comes at a cost, however. I have found that overall, I have better performance and graphics when I use Wine over Crossover Games. However, this may not always be the case. My advice is to try both of them, and use the better option.
How to I modify files, add skill templates, get screenshots, etc?
The way to do this is by right clicking the app and going to show package contents. Then, click on the drive_c folder alias. This will bring you to the app filesystem that works just like a normal Windows system. Go to Program Files > Guild Wars, and modify at your leisure.
How do I use command line commands, such as -password and -image?
To do this, you must, again, right click the app and go to show package contents. However, this time, open the Wineskin app. Once it is open, click Advanced. Under EXE flags, put any commands you would like as you would at the end of a shortcut.
The Crossover games version will not let me change my resolution.
To fix, click the "make windowed" button and then set your resolution in-game pressing F11 from there.
My FPS is horrible and skips around alot, what can i do?
Set your shadows to low in options, it did wonders for me.
Big thanks to Doh123 for Creating Wineskins.

Yeah I understand the sketchiness about it, new user and everything.
If it made you feel more secure im willing to make a video of it working?

Someone else did this before a while ago, I tested it and it wasn't harmful. It's just a windows application in a container. I have one for Oblivion in a Cedega container. My mac just sucks too much to game anymore. Need to invest in a new one.

Installation onto my mac was smooth and simple, but, initially, Guild Wars wouldn't start up. "Unable to open archived file" was the error I received, and I dug into the files to try and fix it. Refreshing wineskin seemed to do the trick, and Guild Wars was up and running soon after. Ingame textures glitch occasionally, and loads times are horribly slow at first, but it works. My only concern would be an issue with account security. My biggest fear is that the program could possibly steal my account info as I type it in, but I have no way to prove that the program is capable of this. I would appreciate it if someone would put my worries to rest.

Hmm, the "unable to open archive" bug troubles me a bit. I have never had that problem myself, so I want to see if anyone has the same problem before I go on to fix it.
As for your fear of keyloggers, I understand your suspicion and you are right to have these suspicions, I will see if I can get a virus total scan on the program, it may be hard to get a reliable one though.
EDIT: Sorry, I tried Virustotal and NoVirusThanks, they both have a 20MB file limit.

Setup and install was easy. I just transferred over my gw.dat file from bootcamp to get in an play right away. Launching and loading is as fast as bootcamp. FPS is lower, varies a lot 45-58fps. Compared to bootcamp consistant 60fps. Their are quite a few graphic glitches, which is annoying. Also gamma adjustments don't work. Can't really complain though as it does what it's supposed to do, run Guild Wars on a mac. It's good for seeing who's online, maybe do some trading/selling in town. Otherwise I will switch to bootcamp for runs with the guild etc... and longer periods of play.

Thanks for the feedback guys.
A new version is out. I installed a d3d9 fix into the app. The file size is bigger, but it should make the FPS MUCH more stable.
More feedback would be much appreciated.
Download link is in original post.

I have been using wineskin over crossover games for a few months now and find performance/startup time to be much faster.
You can also get texmod working in wineskin, which is nice.

There's a cider wrapper over here, install procedure is similar. Preliminary tests were giving me about the same FPS so I don't know if one's better or not, but something else out there for Mac users to try.

Yes, I have tried that one in order to gain comparisons. Performance on that one was on level with this container. Install was not as simple as this one, but it is still very simple of an install. The only thing I didn't like about that one is how they have a non existent loader, all they show you is a picture when the launcher is up. But otherwise it is a good port.

Ok, I have a few things to say about this comment.
1. Crossover games is a paid program. 20-30$ I think. (Unless you pirated it.)
2. This wrapper uses the same engine as crossover games, along with fixes so this works BETTER than crossover games.
3. There have already been tests by previous posters, I assure you it is clean.
And as a final note, I used the crossover games trial, it was unsatisfactory, that made me look for alternatives, and I found wineskins, free, and more powerful than crossover games.
Sorry for the brash shout out, but I really want to get this out of the way.
EDIT: Crossover Games is $39.95, I never thought it would be that high

Hey guys, I made a video to help you out with installing whatever you want to use such as texmod and to also hopefully answer some questions. The video is my first time commentating so be nice. And yes I know I sound like a stoner.

Ahh really? I didn't think it would, my bad for the misinformation.
Anyways, new version out, holding ctrl or alt, and clicking should work now, for when you want to select an ally/foe in a group.

Been running this for about a week now. Fast and good quality overall. Today I've had issues though. The game itself will not load when I open it. The guild wars screen comes up and it says connecting to arenanet.
So I went and watched the video you just posted and I took an in depth look at the package contents. My drive C folder is completely empty and I cannot open it. So I want to redownload everything now but I cant open the link for the download for some reason. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hmm, thats wierd, I haven't taken the file off of my dropbox. Also the DL link looks fine to me, but that might just be because I'm the owner. Try to see if you can DL it again, if it doesn't work I'll upload a mirror on mediafire. Also, the wipe of drive c is interesting, I've never heard of that before. Did you happen to click on "Rebuild Wrapper" in the advanced options menu of wineskin.app? That would wipe the app as you describe.

Fixed
The problem resolved itself. I found the rest of my drive C located in a different file within the gw files. The download link now works. My apologies I believe it had something to do with my router and a firewall issue. Thanks anyways for the help
